Crop Sensor Isaria
Sold commercially
Claas' Crop Sensor Isaria is a nitrogen (N) sensor that calculates the optimal N requirements for plants in order to optimise application of N fertilizers. The N requirements are measured and calculated in real-time while driving and the data optained is sent to the systems fertilizer spreader, which applies fertilizer accordingly. The sensor does not require manual calibration prior to fertilizer application, however different crop types do require calibration. The Isaria uses infrared light to assess plant biomass, predicting current and future N levels and estimated yields. The sensor also measures crop density, so that environmental effects such as drough and frost damage on the field is taken into account.
